How Russia baned Jehovah’s Witnesses.

This year Russia started a new effort to destroy the growth of Jehovah’s Witnesses in that country.

Years earlier, 2009, Rusia placed a block on the official web site calle JW.ORG That site has Bible-bashed articles in over 300 languages. The list of languages includs lessor know languages  of the former Soviet Union.

The recent action now makes it unlawfull for the believers among Jehovah’s Witnesses to meet together anywahere. Otherwise they will be arrested for having an unlaswfull meeting of an unlawfull gtoup.

This is more to the ban that just about having meetings. It means they can not proeach in public, and some may lose their jobs. It also opens te door for viollnece and harrasment toward individulas who identify thiemslesves as believers.

Some world leaders have denouced theis most recent effort of Tussia to stop a harmless group that do not present any kind of danger to society.

“The State Department on Wednesday slammed the Russian Supreme Court’s decision to ban Jehovah’s Witnesses from practicing in the country, which considers them an ‘extremist’ group. ” … Last week, Russia’s Supreme Court ruled to uphold a ruling in April that called the Christian group an ‘extremist’ organization.”  … ” The leading religion in Russia is the Orthodox Church, which is supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

An appeal was made to  the European Court of Human Rights  in hpes of getting Russia to stop the ban.
