Will You Quit and Walk Away? Are you ready?

Here are some tips that might help. Or just make you think more.

There are certain sure signs that quitting is better for you in the long run. While many of these are common sense tips, it’s often hard to look at the situation objectively. Change can be frightening, there are always some positives to hold you back, and quitting often feels like failure—especially if you’ve invested a lot of effort or time into an endeavor

Source for above: When it is time to quit.

That above reference talks about how people hate to give on on a project that has already costs much in time and resources. Yet somethings the best thug is to just walk away from something that got off to a bad start.

If it is you job, her  are some thoughts:

You dread going to work. Do you go to sleep every night dreading the next day of work? While it’s normal to have qualms about the work day, if you truly, deeply dread those eight hours at the office, it is time to put in your two weeks notice.

You’re overqualified. There are times when we have to take subpar jobs just to get by, but if you’re in a job that you are overqualified for, don’t feel stuck.

There’s no room for advancement. Don’t waste time in a position that doesn’t offer opportunities for growth. Committing your time and energy to a company that won’t support the progress of your career, or grow with you, will end up hindering the development of your career in the long run.

The work environment is negative.  If your co-workers are constantly complaining, and your boss is persistently unhappy, the probability of your own contentment is extremely low. Moreover, a pessimistic atmosphere can even kill the passion you have for your career choice. If you find yourself in one, it’s time to get out.

Yu need more than just a good password.

You should have a good password. But any password can be broken.

The whole security system is broken. The things that just now introduced should have already been in place. The cost of good security is smaller than the cost of stolen credit cards and fraud commuted by criminals. So what should you do?

Here are some ideas. First, get a good password. And write it down someplace where you will find it but a stranger will not. Noways you may need to have a password that has 10 or more letters or numbers.  Make sure you have a way to find it when you need it. And do not use the same password for many accounts.

What else? Consider what bank you will use. Not point it using a bank that has already got it wrong. They do not learn from their mistakes. They continue looking for a quick and easy solution. That is how they got it wrong to begin with.

The problems lies in the Data Centers and all the things that work together to make the Internet work. People have a false sense of security. Even major government departments have had their systems broken into by criminals.

You may want to think about reducing the amount of money you put into any one bank of institution. Well, where should you put your money? My answer might alarm you.

Give some financial help to our family and friends. Even ones you think will not pay you back. In the future, it something really bad happens, your family and friends will come to your aid. But not because you gave them money.  When that does happen, and it will, you will feel better because your helped them first.

Think about it. You know this is right.

An Unusual Number Of Natural Disasters.

Even Skeptics Say it. More Global Disasters.

Proof of Climate change? Look at the facts yourself.

Forbes magazine is one of many now saying there are more disasters from natural causes.l Here is a short list of thi9ngs that are called ‘natural’ instead of man-made

  1. Earthquakes.
  2. Hurricanes.
  3. Wild Fires. (When not caused by humans.)
  4. Tsunamis.   (Tidal Waves.)
  5. Mus slides. (Southern California.)
  6. Floods. (Other that failures of damns and levees.)
  7. Animal attacks. (Almost 2,000 people die each year for  form animal attacks.)
  8. Disease epidemics when no cause by human behavior.

The list above is not recompile and is may not represent the order of severity. One could asrgure about how much of these things really are due to so9mething that humans have done. Consider theincrease is human population.

This chart shows the the rate of growth ans slowed down. But we are still growing. Look back about 200years ago and see that  we were about one billion people on this planet. Now we are around 8 billion.

Now then, here are  some factoids from the Forbes magazine article publish bank in October of last

Mexico is especially prone to earthquakes because they’re surrounded by fault lines, in a subduction zone (the Cocos slab submerges under the North American plate). Vox has a good piece they published yesterday (Sept 20, 2017) recapping the earthquakes in Mexico,…

The article above also said:

It is premature to conclude that human activities–and particularly greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming–have already had a detectable impact on Atlantic hurricane or global tropical cyclone activity. That said, human activities may have already caused changes that are not yet detectable due to the small magnitude of the changes or observational limitations, or are not yet confidently modeled (e.g., aerosol effects on regional climate).

What do you thing? How can are presence here not have some large impact on nature?

Now then, after saying that, please think about this. History does record t there have been some very bad things that have taken place on the earth. But often very few people were hurt because there were very few people liking in the area.  An area  in China that had a huge earthquake also had a history of a a huge earthquake a lo0ng time ago. But there were few human deaths back then. Other examples can be given of historical events that did not kill a lot of people.

But it is known for sure that human used of a chemical did make a hole in the upper stratosphere. So that  chemical compound was banned and it helped. Read the item below:

So does Human activity has some impart on the environment. Yers indeed!

Change Server. Again. DNS delay

Help9pm is now on a new server. It takes time to update DNS.

We had some kind of issue with SSL and had to move to a new server.

SSL is a software standard for a secure connection that does not allow a malicious attack on a web page. It seems that somehow I lost the SSL and go some damage to my site. Now everything is good.

Th eSSL problem is now over. I do not understand what happened. But I have move this web site over to another server in a different country and it is now working much better.

Glad to see you found us again!

Why is the bead on ice?

The Bear on Ice photo represents the ide of global warming.

Some people deny it, yet the evidence is very strong.

Recent changes in weather patterns are a result of climate change due to changes in the natural environment.

Here is a chart showing:

World Population Growth

See a full size image here.   Click Here.

From the chart you can see that in about 200 years the world population has gone  from about one billion to eight billion humans on the one planet. That has made a big change in the world environment. Especially when you consider that we humans tend to use a lot of the resources of this earth.

Google helps NASA find a planet far away.

Google helps NASA finsd a planet far away from us.

These stories indicate taht AI was used to find a planet. Therefore it is a computer news story. Read the stories below for the details.

NASA has discovered an eighth planet around a distant star, which means we’re no longer the largest solar system we know of. The discovery was made thanks to some artificial intelligence help from Google, which found the planet by scouring previously overlooked “weak” signals in data captured by the Kepler Space Telescope. The newly found planet is located in the solar system around Kepler-90, a star about 2,500 light-years away from Earth that was previously discovered in 2014.

How can they find another solar system so far away?

Two weeks without full Electricity.

Our family has now gone two weeks on emergency power.

My own fault for not doing maintenance on the outdoor service panel. I could happen to you.

When We bought this place about 16 years ago, nobody ever tole me I had to do regular inspection of the outside electrical panel. Or maybe they did and I just forgot.

To keep the cost of repair down, we decided to not do a full replacement of the entire service panel.

Only a portion was damaged due to wear, age and hot weather. Our neighbor has allowed us to have some power using an extension cord.  So we have some lights and can use the microwave if we are very careful.

From this  learned a lot about the use of  AL (aluminum) in residence electrical wiring.  No, this house does not have AL winging inside the house. Instead, AL is used outside in the service panel.

(I am still editing this… more later.)

Why do batteries go bad?

You buy a new laptop computer and in less than a year the batteries suddenly will not charge. And you can’t get it charged every  time.

Likely you’ve had this experience and you wonder why. Many electronic devices nowadays to not have anything more that a 90 day guarantee. Sometimes you can get a one-year warranty, the authority might not cover the battery. Why is that.?

The link below will provide some more information, but basically what it says is that lithium ion batteries have a built-in defect. The key ingredient, lithium, is not as stable as you might think. The lithium itself can do something unexpected that will shorten the life of the battery. In addition to this finding, many lithium icon batteries has suddenly caught fire for no apparent reason. Unless the industry gets this figured out, we might have to stop using lithium ion batteries.
If so, that is going to be bad news for a lot of companies that have made heavy investments in lithium ion technology. Hopefully, they’ll eventually get this figured out. But this is been going on for years.
Meanwhile, be careful about how you charge your portable computer. Overcharging is not a good idea. Regardless of what other people might tell you, overcharging the lithium I on battery does not really make it any better. Instead, it can shorten the battery life. If your battery still has 50 or 60% charge on it, don’t put it on the charger until you’re really need to. And even then, there’s no need to go beyond 90% charge. Do not believe people who tell you humus skidded to 100% charge every time. That is absolutely not true.

So far, there has not been anything  to indicate the recent wildfires were set by Terrorists. This is posted here only for informational purpose. It would seem very unlikely that this could have been organized.
